The Story
Our latest photoshoot brought us into the colorful and tactile world of Timber Heart Creations. We spent a beautiful morning capturing the intersection of artistic precision and coastal ease, featuring our sleek black short sleeve zip rashie and vibrant floral swim leggings. This collaboration celebrates the beauty of craft and the shared belief that when a woman feels confident in what she wears, she has every reason to celebrate her own creative power.
Timber Heart Creations is about so much more than just jewellery. It is a social enterprise built on the pillars of connection, creativity, and confidence. While Laura is based in Brisbane, she frequently travels to remote and regional towns to provide access to creative classes that are often difficult to find in those areas. Most importantly, a percentage of her profits is used to fund free and low-cost classes for vulnerable women experiencing financial hardship, social isolation, or domestic violence.

OceanRoad: Every business starts with a spark. What was the moment you realised Timber Heart Creations needed to exist?
Laura: I recognised that many women in remote and regional towns often lack access to workshops that inspire self-expression and confidence. By bringing my resin jewellery workshops to these areas, I aim to create a space where women can come together, learn new skills, and celebrate their creativity. It is incredibly fulfilling to witness the transformation in participants as they gain not only new techniques but also the belief in their own capabilities.
OceanRoad: In three words, how would you describe the impact you want to have on your community?
Laura: Creativity, Connection, Empowerment.
OceanRoad: How has being a woman in this industry shaped the way you lead your brand?
Laura: While I don’t have a team, my focus is entirely on empowering other women to believe in themselves and their potential. That might be simply by designing and making a piece of jewellery that they are proud to wear, but it could also go as far as launching their own venture in their community. I recognise that many women have the creativity and skills to start their own microbusinesses but may lack the confidence or resources to do so. My mission is to provide workshops that not only teach valuable skills but also inspire women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. By creating a supportive environment where they can learn and connect, I aim to help them build confidence primarily, and from there anything can happen!

The Vibe: Participants often describe the workshop space as an sanctuary where the outside world fades away and the focus shifts entirely to the magic of the “pour.”
The Feeling: For our models, wearing the OceanRoad collection while creating resin art felt like the perfect pairing of comfort and inspiration, allowing for total freedom of movement in the studio.
