Meet Chele: Aqua Aerobics Instructor, Mum and Sunshine Chaser

Chele wearing OceanRoad Swimwear at an aqua aerobics shoot

“I once appeared on the billboard for Jetty to Jetty fun run.”

Yep, that really happened! It still makes me smile thinking about it. I’ve always loved getting involved in fun community events, and I’m definitely the kind of person who will say yes to something a bit different, especially if it involves movement, laughter, and good people.

Meet Natalie: a Christmas Elf, a Genealogy Buff and Lipoedema Advocate

BANNER Natalie standing strong and comfortable in her body

“Lipoedema taught me to treat my body with kindness and celebrate what it can do.”

For decades, I wondered why my arms and legs always looked out of proportion with the rest of my body. When I finally received my lipoedema diagnosis, it was bittersweet, but it changed everything. It gave me answers, understanding and, most importantly, compassion for my own body. Since then, I’ve learned to care for myself differently, with more rest, better nutrition and gentle movement. Being part of this photoshoot was incredibly liberating and full of laughter. It felt like a true celebration of women of all ages, shapes and stages of life, and a reminder that confidence comes from accepting yourself as you are.

Meet Sandy: a Passionate Cook, Photographer and Fun-Loving Woman

beauty and confidence come from self-acceptance, embraced my body and its changes over time. Banner

“Confidence is putting a swimsuit on and embracing yourself.”

My relationship with my body has changed over the years. When I was younger, it was effortless to stay thin and fit but menopause and time have brought changes. My knees do not always cooperate and waistlines expand yet I remain grateful for the strength and resilience my body offers. Dating in my 50s helped me see that you do not have to be perfect to feel sexy. Being part of this OceanRoad Swimwear photoshoot was more comfortable than I expected. It was just fun and liberating. The zip-up rashies made me feel confident and I hope my photos show women of all shapes and sizes that practical swimwear can look beautiful. This experience reminded me that I can do almost anything if I put my heart into it.

Meet Maria: a Brazilian Dancer, Fashion Lover and Confidence Advocate

Helping Women Feel Confident in Front of the Camera - banner

“I used to be a nurse before moving into fashion and photography.”

People are often surprised to learn I began my career as a nurse in Brazil. I’ve always had a heart for helping people, now I do it in a more creative way, helping women feel confident and beautiful in front of the camera. My perfect day would start with a sunrise walk along the beach, followed by coffee with friends, some creative work behind the lens, and ending with dancing or enjoying the sunset by the ocean. To recharge, I love quiet moments, a glass of wine, music, or simply being by the sea. Nature always helps me reset and find balance.

Meet Christine, Dancer, Diver, Dreamer & Advocate for Self love

“Loving your whole self physically and emotionally.”

For me, confidence comes from accepting and loving every part of yourself. My body has changed a lot over the years, kids, jobs, injuries, life’s ups and downs, but I’ve learned to embrace every stage. I celebrate achievements, big or small, with little treats, like a special meal or some shopping. Body confidence today is about doing my best to stay healthy, accepting life’s stages, and still chasing the lifestyle goals I set for myself.

Meet Jeni, a Dancer, a Trailblazer and a Joy Seeker

“Each birth was amazing and showed me how incredible our bodies are!”

Something about me that not everyone knows is that I gave birth to my three children at home during planned homebirths. For two of my sons, we had a midwife present, and with my middle son, he arrived before the midwife got there! It was an empowering and special experience for me and my husband. Each birth was amazing and showed me how incredible our bodies are. A perfect day for me now would probably involve some beach or pool time, a massage, and a yummy meal out. I also relax and recharge by spending time in the sun, enjoying beautiful views, and doing some gentle movement.

Meet Jan, a Water Wanderer, Sunshine Chaser, and a Happy Soul

Swimwear that makes you feel confident Banner

“We all have the same destination, but we control the journey!”

I love drifting on a boat around the Whitsundys with good friends and good food. Catching up, enjoying wine and nibbles, and sharing the ups and downs of life is my idea of a perfect day. I often remember something a patient of mine said many years ago: “We all have the same destination, but we control the journey!” It’s a wonderful reminder to live life on my own terms.

Meet Mandy, a Dancer, Adventurer and Free Spirit

“One of the best decisions I ever made was moving to Australia.”

I emigrated here in 2001 and I’ve never looked back. It was truly one of the best choices of my life. Now that I’m recently retired, I sometimes wonder how I ever managed to fit work into my days with everything else I love to do.

“I’m a Queensland girl at heart.”

I was born in Queensland, moved to South Australia and then to Victoria, but eventually made my way back to QLD to help care for my mum when she was really sick. Family means everything to me, and being there when she needed me most was something I’ll never regret.

Meet Merilyn, Swim School Coordinator, Music Lover, and Woman Who Embraces Who She Is

“I am a mum, wife, sister, daughter and aunt. But most of all I am ME!”

I wear many hats—mum, wife, sister, daughter, and aunt—but most of all, I am me. I enjoy music (listening to and playing), reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family. These are the things that bring me joy when I’m not working.
